On 28 February, 1940, the Green Bay Power Squadron was granted its charter. The bylaws and charter were approved by the April 1940 Governing Board. The charter members consisted of George Burridge, William C. Hawley, Harvey S. Jess, Howard Kissel, P.G. Frippner, W.W. Morrison, Emmett Platten, Otto Rahr, Richard Surplice and Benoit Wittig. On 25 April, Cdr. W.W. Morrison was advised by V/C William K. Anderson of the United States Power Squadrons® (USPS), that they were the 52nd squadron to be formed.
Over the past six decades, the Green Bay Sail and Power Squadron has contributed much to promote the mission of USPS. In 2000 the name of the organization was changed from the Green Bay Power Squadron to its current name.  We are an organization of boaters: power, sail, kayaks, canoes. If it floats, you're one of us.  We pride ourselves in boating education and the squadron has received The Prince Henry Award for teaching excellence three time, in 1981, in 2001, and most recently in 2009.
